Hello, I am Evone Rosales, Creator and Owner of Sweet Memory Cakes. I frequently get asked how my journey in the Culinary World began. Well here is a small slice of my story.

I was raised by my Mother in the beautiful Boderland City of El Paso, Texas. I am proud to have grown up in a household filled with a strong mexican heritage.

I started baking since I was only a child. At the tender age of 10, I used to bake the ugliest chocolate cakes and sell them to my Mother's co-worker, so I could buy more ingredients to make more cakes. Looking back at that time, I think to myself, poor people (God bless them because when I say they where ugly, I mean they where ugly, lol) but thank you for feeding my dream.
I then took several cake decorating courses at the age of 14. I remember my mother telling me "if you want it, you need to work for it", so I did. My motivation to learn and create made me take the city bus every Saturday morning while carrying all my utensils and whatever bread and frosting they would ask us to take. When I would head back home, people would just stare at a short-skinny girl getting off the bus carrying a fully decorated cake and a huge bag (what I would have done for a scooter back then). The best part was encountering my neighbors as they would wait for me outside their yards and fight amongst each other as to who I would sell the cake to (Thank you Lupe and Senora Sanchez).
As I grew older, I just baked as a hobby and felt as if I needed to become a Nurse because becoming a Baker was not going to lead to much. I tried nursing but it just wasnt for me. I worked in every field you could imagine, literally. I was even a DJ, (hahaha , what was I thinking) needless to say,I was not good at it.
I married the most wonderful man who encouraged me to continue with my passion, so I started to bake and decorate cakes again. I went back to school and enrolled in the EPCC Culinary Pastry Program.

After I completed school, I created Sweet Memory Cakes and my dream began. I also worked in several places as a Pastry Chef, Cake Decorator and Pastry Cook. I had the privaledge of working and learning from amazing people. I will forever cherish those moments.

As the years have passed, I have had the pleasure of living my dream. I am thrilled to have had Sweet Memory Cakes and some of my Clients for over a Decade (I feel so old). I will continue my journey to serve you and promise that I will only get better.
